Good News

Yesterday afternoon members of NoW met with Marsha Walsh, John Morrison, and Elaine Dove of the Spring Glen Civic Association. We are pleased to report that the meeting was excellent. The SGCA members are in full agreement with our goals, and offered their full support. They believe, just as we do, that a 40 ton Jersey Barrier type bridge on Waite Street to replace our friendly and unassuming little bridge, is a "non-starter". They also share our concerns for the preservation of our beautiful lake and its population.

The Spring Glen Civic Association offered to contact all of Hamden's neighborhood associations in an effort to obtain their support in our opposition to the bridge project in its scope and impact. We hope to secure this important help since it is our conviction that the Waite Street bridge project is not simply a strictly local neighborhood issue but one whose negative consequences will affect all of Hamden's residents' quality of life.
